Sunflower Blogger Award

I've had a blog for about two weeks now and Ivy and Hamlette have both nominated me for the award. How sweet of them! So, here are the rules:

Rules:

1.) Share 11 facts about yourself

2.) Answer the questions set by your nomination blogger.

3.) Nominate 11 bloggers (I'm only going to have two since I'm so new here and don't know too many people)

4.) Set questions for the nominated bloggers.

11 facts:

The only country I have been to outside of the US is Ukraine.

My Ukrainian name, Sonyashnyk, means "sunflower".

My favorite Bible character is Joseph.

My favorite girl's names are Anna and Klara.

I can't stand tomato sauce. It literally makes me sick to my stomach.

My favorite flowers are tulips.

I love comic books, particularly X-Men and Thor.

I own a first edition copy of Ben-Hur (the book, not the movie).

My all-time favorite Shakespeare story is "Macbeth". My favorite comedy is "Much Ado About Nothing".

I know how to make old-fashioned, hand-crafted soap from scratch.

I never changed my college major (biology). My minor changed once - from pre-med to teaching.

Answers to Hamlettes questions:

Q: If you had to spend the rest of your life in a different century of Earth's past, where would you spend it?

A: The American Colonial Era, probably because I've grown up in Virginia in the middle of the HistoricTriangle  (Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown) and there is so much history here.

Q: What's your favorite salad dressing?

A. Blue Cheese

Q: What's the worst movie (that you liked least) you saw in 2013?

A: Hhhmmm....probably "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2". I took some kids to it and they had a good time, is I was happy.

Q: Do you paint your toenails?

A. No...I'm a dancer. It's a waste of time.

Q: What are your three favorite TV shows?

A: Star Trek (all of them), Lost, Sherlock

Q: Are there any books or movies you own more than one copy of? If so, what are they?

A: Other than multiple copies of the Bible, none come to mind.

Answers to Ivy's questions:

Q: If you had a chance to live in one country in Europe for one year, what country would it be?

A: I would either go back to Ukraine or head to England.

Q: Do you learn from you mistakes or just tend to forget about them?

A: Depends on how stupid it was. Usually learn from them.

Q: Would you rather live in Middle-Earth, Narnia, Camelot, Panem, or Hogwarts?

A: This is not a fair question! I'd say Middle-Earth because then I could live in Hobbiton.

Q: Vampire, werewolf or neither?

A: Vampire, but only if it's a real Bram Stoker type vampire. None of this sparkly, emo, wussy vampire stuff.

Q: What are your favorite children's names?

A: For girls, Anna and Klara. For boys, William and Luke.

Q: What do you believe was the worst time period in history?

A: Any time before the invention of chocolate.
Probably the Dark Ages. Everyone was killing everyone else, the church was a wreck, and if war, famine, disease, or disaster didn't befall you, you might live to 45.

Q: What is the greatest achievement in society to date?

A: Representative government. Now, how well it is actually Implemented can often be a sorry state of affairs.

Nominee questions:

1: If you could meet one person from history, who would it be?

2: What book have you read more times than any other?

3: What was the first movie you saw in a theater?

4: Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate?

5: Spring, summer, fall, or winter?

6: If you could be part of any race from Middle Earth, what race would you choose and why?

7: What is your dream vacation?

8: What do you think the greatest invention in modern times (since the birth of Christ) has been?

9: What was your favorite move of 2013?

10: Who is your all-time favorite actor and actress? (They don't have to be living)

My nominees:

Ivy: Revealed in Time

Hamlette: Hamlette's Soliloquy

Thanks for commenting! Just a few rules if you're going to post something:

Be polite. Rudeness doesn't do anyone any good.

Don't be mean or derogatory, even if you don't like something I post. It is my blog after all.
